Performance Characteristics of Polyoxymethylene (POM):
High Strength and Rigidity: POM has high tensile strength and rigidity, making it highly effective in bearing mechanical loads with excellent performance.
Wear Resistance:
Due to its molecular chain structure, POM exhibits outstanding wear resistance in frictional environments, making it ideal for applications such as gears, bearings, and other components subject to wear.
Low Friction Coefficient:
POM has a low coefficient of friction, making it suitable for sliding, rolling, and load-bearing applications, such as pulleys, bearings, and other similar parts.
Excellent Dimensional Stability:
POM maintains excellent dimensional stability over a wide temperature range, making it suitable for precision machining applications.
Chemical Resistance:
It has good resistance to most common solvents, oils, fuels, and chemicals, making it suitable for use in harsh environments.
Outstanding Electrical Insulation:
POM has good electrical insulating properties, widely used in the electronics and electrical industries.
Main Types:
Homopolymer:
Offers higher rigidity, strength, and wear resistance, suitable for high-load applications.
Copolymer:
Offers better toughness and impact resistance, suitable for more complex processing requirements.
